Nearly 1,000 luminaries illuminate your path throughout Historic Augusta, MO the first two Friday nights of December between five to 10 PM. The winter event has more than a twenty-five year history and has evolved into a tradition for the entire community to host. A free Trolley Shuttle will take you through town to tour the many shops and antique stores, wineries and brewery, diners and food courts, discover unusual artwork including hand-blown glass, paintings, and jewelry.

The area churches can help get you in the holiday cheer with Christmas songs and encourage you to sing along or simply relax in the church sanctuary under a large Christmas tree. The town square can heighten your holiday cheer with a horse drawn carriage ride around the heart of town, a warm bon fire with Chestnuts roasting and marshmallows toasting, and Santa Claus arriving to listen to you Christmas wishes.

The holiday enthusiast may enjoy the challenge of the Holiday Scavenger Hunt and a Christmas challenge and an evening awash with gathering items from all the shops. You can turn your answers to our History Museum and enter for awards from our area merchants.

Everyone can easily relax by appreciating a band at Mount Pleasant Winery with a glass of wine; spend the evening at dinner accompanying friends at Caf? Bella, Augusta Brewing Company, Ashley’s Rose or Balducci’s; relax with a therapeutic massage at Halcyon or you can shop till you drop at a various of specialty shops and antique stores – a great northeast Missouri tourism.

Enjoy the holiday season in Augusta, Missouri on one of the first two Fridays of December with the Christmas Candlelight Walk.
